  • On September 8, RehabCare co-sponsored a sand volleyball tournament with the Student Special Interest Group at Duke University.  Physical Therapy students, and a couple of faculty members, from Elon University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill all participated in an afternoon of fun, food and socializing – someone even brought along a bean-bag tossing game to play in between volleyball rounds.

These guys weren’t playing around either.  Once the teams arrived, they began warming up to prepare for the elimination rounds!

Once everyone got warmed up, the tournament began.  I was impressed with the skill of some of these players.  Img_0860

(I later found out that some of them play on inter-mural teams on campus.)

But after all was said and done, Team PH was crowned the winner of the tournament.

Let’s not forget to mention all the other teams who put up quite a fight – they include:Img_0865

Img_08731_3We held a raffle at the end of the day for an iPod shuffle, and the winner was Christina from Duke.  Congratulations, Christina!  Now you have something else to listen to instead of that squishy sound during Gross Anatomy!

A big thanks to Katie at Duke University for helping us put this all together with the schools! We look forward to a great relationship with this group and hope to meet you all again soon!
