  • A Day In The Life
  • Sometimes it takes hearing a story about another individual’s achievement to
help you get motivated to achieve your goals.  If you need a little push to tackle your next
goal take a moment to read Gina Patterson’s story. Her story is a true testament to what can be achieved
    through one’s shear determination.

In 1993, at the age of 19, Gina was a victim of a house fire and suffered 3rd
degree burns on 88 percent of her body. After going through 19 surgeries, blood
transfusions and skin grafts along with months and months of therapy, Gina was
able to achieve goals that many would not be able to achieve.

Jennifer Knowlton, Gina’s Physical Therapist at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, was quoted saying; “In the 15 years
that I have been at Hillcrest, I have had two patients who have achieved things
I never would have thought possible, and she is one of them.”

Read Gina’s full story on the Advance
    for Occupational Therapy
website, you will walk away from your computer
    inspired.  She truly exemplifies the
power of an individual’s determination coupled with the ever advancing world of
    therapy.
