Students In Washington Rally for Loan Bill
PT Students from the University of Washington rally with local legislators to encourage them to vote for the Bill currently in congress, Student Loan Repayment for Physical Therapist. As you may have read on our January 21st blog post, Take Action- Student Loans for Physical Therapy Students, there is currently a bill in congress that will allow Physical Therapist who practice in an underserved area to be eligible to participate in the National Health Services Corps Student Loan Repayment Program. While searching on the internet for Therapy Student Blog sites I came across the UW PT Student Blog.
"Rally Day is a good opportunity to learn and groom skills to approach legislators. Some people have no issues talking, but may get shy. The reality is legislators want to hear from constituents, so each student should sign up, so they get to see the people representing them……."
From reading information on their site it seems like Rally Day was a
great success. Students have been invited to leave comments and
suggestions on their experience. This blog is a great way to stay
connected and invites students from all over to comment and
participate. UWPT is keeping PT students connected. If you have a
chance make sure to visit the site and see how you can participate with
the other programs in your area.
