Physical and Occupational Therapy Named Best Careers of 2009
US News and World reports recently released it’s list of best careers for the year 2009. Great news! Physical and Occupational Therapy both ranked in the top 30 careers. So you may be asking what exactly makes a great career? Well the criteria used to rank the top 30 jobs included median pay, job satisfaction, training difficulty, prestige, job market outlook, and education requirements. In addition to writing the article US News and World Reports also selected a few of the careers to profile on video. The video below is a great piece by Occupational Therapist Christine Harmon explaining what an OT does. While Christine works in pediatrics she talks at length about what a pediatric OT does she also mentions OT’s in nursing homes and what is involved in their job as well.
