  •     RehabCare recently sponsored a softball team at the University of Michigan-Flint.  Here is a note from team captain, Johnathan about how their season went.  Congratulations Team RehabCare!

We are a group of first year DPT students at the University of Michigan-Flint Physical Therapy Program representing RehabCare in our coed softball league. There are 5 guys and 7 girls who play on the team (all of us in our first year), we got off to a good start winning our first three games but lately our bats have been letting us down and we have been around .500 since those first three. We have a large range of skill levels ranging from never having played to players who have played in college. Playing together is a lot of fun and provides us an opportunity to get together as a class and have some fun. We have some faithful fans from the class who show up every week to cheer us on and give us cookies and brownies after the games and act as the team moms.

Playing on Wednesday nights has been a challenge due to the fact that we have had quizzes or exams every Thursday morning so sometimes our minds aren't in the game 100%. We have a real chance of winning this league if the pieces fall right; there are a couple really good teams but I think if we play our best we can beat them. Two more weeks of class and we FINALLY get a break for the summer and everyone can devote their full attention to the team. That will be nice because we will actually get to go out and celebrate after our games during the summer. Overall it has been a lot of fun interacting and getting to know some of the students in class some of us have not had a chance to hang out with outside of class. We look forward to our next presentation and continuing work with Jill and all of the RehabCare team. GO REHABCARE!
