Texas Tech Transitional DPT Program
Are you an experienced physical therapist who is looking to augment your current knowledge and skills to more strongly position yourself in the current health care environment. If so, Texas Tech's Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Pathway may be just what you're looking for.
- The t-DPT degree differs from an advanced post-professional degree (such as the ScD PT degree offered by TTHUSC) as it does not reflect the acquisition of advanced or specialized clinical skills in a specialty practice area, but rather it focuses on current advancements in the physical therapy's professional body of knowledge and state of practice.
- Applicants must be licensed to practice physical therapy within the United States.
- Applicants must have earned an entry-level professional degree from an accredited physical therapy program within the United States; either (i) a Master's professional degree in physical therapy or (ii) a Bachelor's professional degree in physical therapy and a Master's degree in a related academic field from an accredited university within the United States.
Curriculum
- The curriculum will be delivered on-line and ravel to Lubbock will not be a component of required courses. Some elective courses will have a weekend contact session in Lubbock, but a student can design their curriculum to take all course work online. Students should expect to enroll for 27 credit hours or 9 courses. Each student's curriculum is flexible and most students should complete the curriculum in two to three years.
- Specific information about the curriculum is available online at: http://www.ttuhsc.edu/sah/ (Click on "SOAHS Program" tab and select "Physical Therapy, Transitional")
